Theatre takes over the whole town, from the great scene of the pope’s palace, to the tiniest and most obscure backroom, plays are everywhere, in all languages, forms, and length; starting at all time day and night. When not playing, comedians go round town advertising their play. Avignon eats, drinks, breathes theatre for a month. Not to be missed. Do bring your reusable water bottle, it’s very hot.
